Meat Space - More Sedition Wars Strain

The Shambling Menace grows!

(Not sure what else there is to say about these guys... They're space zombies, and I still like the sculpt with the giant arm best...)

More Man than Machine? Cthonian re-sculpt (also, Cthonian Assault Drone)

This has been a side project I've been working on ever since I finished my Grendlr conversion some time back. The Cthonian looks nice as a robot, but never really spoke to me as a giant evil pseudo-organic intelligence, which demanded a change.

Flying Solo - Sedition Wars Solo Play Designer's Notes & (unofficial) Co-op Rules

The Solo rules variant for Sedition Wars is the most ambitious and complex set of rules I've written. While I started the project expecting I could get it done in around 6-8 pages, it became something far grander in scope as I worked on it.

(This article assumes you're either familiar with the terms, have the rules (the beta rules PDFs are here) or are fine catching as catch can, knowing some game terms aren't explained.)

Initial Concept
Coming into the project, I had a ton of experience testing Sedition Wars, and knew the flow of the game pretty much backwards and forwards. There were a few points I knew I wanted to address from the beginning:

Braaains! Test Zombie

A quick little one today- a test color scheme for a Mantic Zombie- the first of many!

Done using a lot of the techniques I developed while painting up my Strain minis for Sedition Wars.

Readings, in front and behind - Sedition Wars terrain, part 1

I've done a number of terrain projects over the years, and realized that they're most often the projects I get distracted by mid-process, so I wanted to start small with this one.

Cocci, A Sedition Wars scenario

This scenario is actually the first I've written that went beyond "wouldn't it be cool if...?" and is actually developed and tested.

Compare & Contrast - Sedition Wars revisions - Revenant tests

A quick one, today. I decided that, while I'm not sure what to do with the extra copies of minis I got from the Kickstarter, I want to have at least the core set painted to a really nice standard.

I rushed through the basic infantry on both sides, and it was time to go back in and get them looking spiffy.

This was the result of the first round of changes. I pushed the contrast a lot, picked out some details, and added more color to the bases. I'm happy enough with these that I've been working a bit on the others.

Compare & Contrast - Sedition Wars, testing the first scenario under 1st and 2nd edition rules

As I posted yesterday, the PDFs for second edition Sedition Wars came out. There's been a lot of controversy, and I thought it would be good to try something out.

I decided try to repeat the same scenario under the same conditions, using the same strategy, using the same rolls, with both rules sets. I'm playing these simultaneously with two types of counters. Yes, it's confusing, but I'm curious to see how the same tactics work on both versions.
