I realized recently that I've actually completed my Silver Tower collection, but never remembered to consolidate them into one big, snazzy post, so, here's a little trip down memory lane.

Dungeon Romp - Warhammer Quest Silver Tower Review
Silver Tower is, well, as the title suggests, a bit of a romp. It's certainly in the tradition of a dungeon crawl, but simple and easy enough that it's a very casual experience.

By the Book - gaunt Summoner and other Silver Tower Big Baddies
I love the look of the gaunt Summoner- he reminds me of mix of classic Chaos, GW's modern clean sculpting, and a splash or two of Del Toro puppets.

What is Best in Life? - Silver Tower Ogroid Thaumaturge + Darkoath Chieftain
Silver Tower's update, in the Darkoath Chieftain, is actually one of my favorite recent GW models, since I think he has a really classic fantasy barbarian vibe, and the face really seals the deal, with the kind of threatening smile. Despite baloon-like muscles and some oversized weapons, I think the model has some surprising subtlety.

Little Things Hitting Each Other! - Silver Tower Familiars and Dwarf
I like the familiars, a lot. I think they have quite a bit of charm, and even if they're not original (the book and moon headed guy are updates; the Skeksis is a common Tzeentch bit; the fish guy is at very least basically from a Mordheim drawing, if it never had a model), they're still a lot of fun.

Rekindled - Tzeentch Horrors
I'd always liked the splitting theme with the Horrors, so I was pretty excited to see this mechanical element finally return after (I'm pretty sure) more than a decade of absence.

Building A Religion- Silver Tower Acolytes
Having missed the train with Warhammer Quest back when I was a kid and not that in to board games, I decided the new edition was a good time to try it out. I went with the goons first, and did a few variations on the Kairic Acolytes, in part to be able to tell them apart, but mostly to break up the repetition.

Back from the Dead - One More Thousand Son
So, a short one, today. I ended up trading with the guy I'd painted a Thousand Sons army for some time back, and found out that he'd sold it off due to medical expenses
Having also been through both medical and financial bad times myself (and since he was a nice guy), I felt for him, and painted one more sorcerer from my chaos collection to send back his way. Now that he's got the mini (I didn't want him to stumble across the post and ruin the surprise!), up he goes, here :)

All is Dust... - Thousand Sons Army, part 6: Vehicle interiors
I decided I should get some pics of the tanks before I built the rest of them, since lighting and shooting them with the top hull on wouldn't really be the best...

All is Dust... - Thousand Sons Army, part 5: Obliterators
These three are the most extensive conversions in the army. Like a lot of people, my client wasn't too excited with the derpy look of some of the regular obliterators, so I managed to cut and mangle a devastator squad and three terminators until they looked like the above.

All is Dust... - Thousand Sons Army, part 2: squad 1
I've been a bit silent on this one, because I was working on a large batch at once, but things are coming together...

All is Dust... - Thousand Sons Army, part 1: test model
Well, somewhere between 3rd edition and 6th edition, the Thousand Sons' "battle cry" went from a ghostly whisper to some kind of weird mantra, but I still love the mystical boys in blue.
