Kentaro Miura's series has directly and indirectly been the source of quite a bit of entertainment over the years, and so I wanted to acknowledge his work. These models are slightly rougher than I'd intended, but I didn't want to wait until this project was complete, whenever that came around.

Like a river's flow, it never ends - Kingdom Death Legend of Zelda Homages
So, it's been quite some time.
I don't know how frequently I'll be doing this, but I'm starting my blog up after a dry spell, because I know I could use something a little lighter than what's become my day-to-day that, like everyone else's, has been pretty derailed these past weeks.
I'm starting off with some nostalgic homages to my favorite ol' N64 game, plus a note about my absence.

Did You Forget? It's your Birthday! - Wind Waker Link Conversion (Super Dungeon Explore)
One of the only things my sister-in-law and I had in common when we met was a fondness for the Legend of Zelda series.

Indiana Jones... Or Lucas McCabe... Or Illinois Smith? - Sculpting project
It's fairly rare that I get such a specific conversion project... I got to browse a ton of Indiana Jones photos to get the style just right.

Fearful Symmetry - Watchmen's Rorschach
When I saw that Knight was putting out a Watchmen set of miniatures, I knew I had to paint Rorschach's. I'm still on the fence about the others, since they're all based on the movie iterations, and those diverge more for the other characters, but, well, Rorschach was too classic to mess with.

Who the Hell Do You Think I Am? - Kingdom Death Forsakers
One of a few references I hadn't really encountered prior to the first Kingdom Death Kickstarter, I definitely hadn't recognized Kamina... thought he was some Final Fantasy character I didn't recognize. While Gurren Lagann isn't my favorite show ever, it's a pretty perfect reference for the setting.

Master of Ceremonies - Osmund Saddler conversion
We used to call Resident Evil "Zombie Theater," back when my housemates used to gather 'round the projector after dinner.

The Hero of Warpspace - Zelda-themed Cypher conversion
Being a big Ocarina of Time fan, when I got this commission, I knew it was going to be something fun and weird.

And So We Return and Begin Again. Kingdom Death Messenger of the First Story + settlement years 0-6
The Messenger of the First Story's reference to Ayla is pretty transparent, but a fun one. It also seemed appropriate for her to be the entry for the beginning of our play-through.

No. 26... No. 26... - Malifaux Dreamer model
So, I'd actually been thinking about this guy for more than a year now, when it came time to execute.

It Ain't Me you Gotta' Worry About Now - Sedition Wars Riddick Homage
A quick one today, I was originally going to paint him with some more shadow, but thought the little on his base and very dark color scheme would be enough. That, and I think that the lighter skin as contrast worked better than one more effect would.

I've Got a Class-II Rating. - More Sedition Wars Vanguard, and some re-done pieces
So, I've been doing a lot of Sedition Wars, which means, as usual, I wanted to paint some more from the line.
