While I've done a lot of work influenced by historical armies, this is actually my first work on a historical vehicle (well, not counting poorly built model airplanes when I was a kid).
I did a little research here, and the BA-64 was mostly a scout vehicle, so I went with a well-maintained and more subtle camouflage, with the vehicle number as the only marking (since anything more geometric would be one more thing that could get spotted). This is roughly based on the chalk whitewashing technique used, and is over a simplified version of a normal camo scheme, to get a more accurate feel of volume and layering.
